Laura • A Fun Fashion Bridal at Sunny Acres

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

When the opportunity came up to photograph Laura again…of course I said YES! It was even more of a bonus that she brought her friend Jessica. I have two wedding dresses I have been trying to destroy for months! My good friend and fellow photographer Missy Brown joined us at the shoot, soooooo be on the look out for her images as well. I am sure you can also find her on Facebook! That day wore me out, but was a blast!

We were also blessed with beautiful flowers from Chris Dayton of Colonial Design and Florist – Flowers.

Brandy Doyle rocked out the hair as usual. We wanted a more natural bohemian look compared to last time when it was very high fashion.

I love how this images is very soft yet has dramatic lights and and shapes of the trees.

Colonial Designs of St. Matthews were just soooo fabulous!

Jessica who is still new in the industry was sooo wonderful. She takes directions like a champ! (You will see more of Jessica in the next post! )

KY Farm Bureau Young Farmers Weekend• Blenko Glass Tour

Friday, July 16th, 2010

We are out and about with lots of fun with KY Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers. Our first tour was at Blenko Glass Company and it was awesome! I enjoyed every minute of it! Oh any my bestie was there with her hubby Chuck. He is the blob on the right in green.

At the Blenko Glass Company they demonstrated how they work with the blown glass.

We showed up early and drove separate so we got to sneak around and take a tour. Below you can see several of the young farmers watching all the glass workers.

It is soooo weird to think of shears being able to cut glass!

Ok…so this was just random, but I loveeeeeeed it and thought it was funny! It’s a Jami thing, so don’t worry if you don’t get it.

The glass in the storage area was sooo neat. It reminded me of where I used to work. We had to walk through a stained glass business to get to our space. All of the flat glass panels are still hand made at Blenko. They use a really neat tube method.

A small sampling of the glass colors/designs they offer.

Blenko’s first glassware made were this style of water bottle/container, to this day they are the most popular item they sell.

All of the glass is blown into wood molds and then shaped. Blenko uses apple wood as their main wood of choice for the molds.

A Glass artisan dipping a vase in water to achieve a crackle look.

Just a random oven with “blow tubes”, I was told this is where they reheat the glass as they work with it.

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

A wedding I just photographed was just featured on Bling Diva Designs. I love telling others about vendors I adore. The more I have looked through her shop the more I love her cake toppers!

Going back and looking. I took a ton of pictures of the topper! So in honor of how awesome it is, two more pictures!
