Hawaii 2011 • American Farm Bureau Federation National Convention

As with every Farm Bureau Event I attend, the photography side of me comes out…this year the National Convention was in Hawaii. During my free time, myself and a Friend, took tours and walked around. During my not so free time, I learned more about farming and working with others. I even attended a cooking seminar. Fun Fact: Jami can NOT cook. I am excellent at burning food and occasionally myself. The cooking seminar was amazing, we actually ventured out to Chef Gooch’s restaurant on a pier. It was the best food I had on Oahu!

Best of Wedding-ish Things!

I have decided to put together a “Best Of” post. Which was a great idea until I tried to narrow it down. In the end I ended up using the Russian roulette method with the delete key, so that you wouldn’t have to go through over 100 images. So, here is a smattering of my favorites from this past year, in no particular order and deleted down roulette style.

Jami in a Nutshell:

First and foremost, I am a big nerd. Yep, I was the one in high school/college Marching Band. I embrace my inner nerd wholeheartedly. Often my inner monologue is ...more outer. I consider myself a "Nerd-Artist" and always give my best.

While I love to have fun and be a bit goofy. I will always remember, It is an honor to attend any wedding, let alone photograph a once in a lifetime opportunity.

After being in the photography world for awhile, I found myself wanting to get out of the typical studio setting and wanted to develop my own style freely.

From there J.Guess Photography was born.

My clients hire me on one of the most important days of their lives and also have me photograph the people closest to their heart. I want to do this right and beautifully.

I do tend to “claim” and keep my clients, I am with you and your family all day at your wedding. I consider you family.

Capturing the random, beautiful moments, as they happen, is my favorite part of this profession. Getting to know you as clients helps with this!

I love to strive for perfection, but understand that it is the flaws, that can make portraits ......amazing.
